Fuel Economy Run
(See below for results)

ImageGot an easy throttle hand? Get good mileage?

Find out how good on Tuesday at 10am, and maybe win a trophy at the same time.

Americade is introducing its first-ever Fuel Economy Run, which given the country's focus on economy, will likely get more than its share of press coverage.

We've set up a simple 100 mile route involving mostly interstate road. Tanks will be topped up and sealed, and the bikes will depart at set intervals. There will be a maximum time allowed, to ensure that all are operated just below the speed limit. Riders will check in at the turnaround, and tanks will be carefully refilled at the finish (in the Lake George area.)

Unique Americade trophies to class winners, and hundreds of $$ in door prizes from sponsor, Spectro Oils. Entry forms available at the Activities Room at Roaring Brook Ranch.

3 Classes:
Stock Touring Motorcycle - Solo
Bike must appear to be stock, have saddlebags and windshield, but no limits on tire pressure.

Stock Touring Motorcycle - Passenger
Bike must be stock-appearing, have saddlebags, windshield, and passenger, but no limits on tire pressure.

Unlimited (any cc size, no limits on configuration) - additional $100 cash prize for anyone who can exceed 100 mpg.

Let's show the world how fuel-efficient a motorcycle can be.
