AMERICADE 2008 EXPERIENCES NEAR-RECORD CROWDS
Event surprises many with its strong turnout in a weak season
Lake George, NY: Americade 2008 witnessed one of its largest turnouts, in a year when several major events preceding Americade reported double digit decreases in attendance.
One of the greatest beneficiaries was Americade’s large consumer trade show, TourExpo. Sales for onsite vendors were very strong, with record or near-record sales for many. There is always a waiting list to get into the TourExpo show, and this year’s performance indicates why:

- "It was the best Americade rally we've had in the past 7 years,” said John A. Preston CEO, Bushtec Mfg & Sales, Inc.

- Corbin Inc. owner and founder, Mike Corbin reported, “We did really well. Our normal touring products sold as good as ever, and the new products went up through the roof.”

- Jim Hartwick, General Manager of Küryakyn commented, “We had a very positive show, and it exceeded our expectations.”

- Gordon Robertson, PIAA Powersports Manager, offered, "The Expo was good for us this year. Maybe our best year yet."

Bill Dutcher, Americade founder explained, “We carefully market to the most dedicated riders in motorcycling, who tend to not be swayed as much by the economy or fads.” He continued, “ We’ve very pleased with our record 17 major manufacturers' demos, and the strong results for the TourExpo vendors.”
